Marla: Bobbi, in all the excitement of visiting the store periodically, I don't know if I ever have taken the time to tell you how much you are appreciated in our town. What would we do without our own special quilt store at our point of need. Thanks much.

April Showers

Well, this has been an interesting week.  I spent three days with my grandson Justin.  It has been a very long time since I spent that much time with a baby, and I know why children are given to the young people.  He was very good, and of course as sweet as sugar.    Now you may know that there are two boys, Justin is three months old and belongs to Jennifer and Zach, and then there is Collin, who is six months old and belongs to Janelle and Brennan.   They are very fun and growing so quickly.  Makes me feel old.

The shop was very busy this week and we are so thankful to all of you who helped us find more space in the shop.  Now comes the big news.  Years ago I was privileged to meet Lori McKenna.  A woman of strength, enthusiasm, a zest for life.  Lori taught me that if you could do whatever you put your mind to.  She is full of ideas and creativity that I am sure to have just scratched the surface.  Now, back to my point.  Lori gave me the promotion of "April Showers Bring May Fabric Sales".  So with that bit of inspiration, we once again present our May Fabric Sale, which this year means that everything in the shop under $9.99 a yard will be $3.50 for a half yard cut, and $6.00 for a full yard or more.  This is May 1, 2 & 3rd only.  I know this is huge and crazy, but we are hoping that it will be fun as well.  Sorry, but at the sale price we won't be cutting anything less than a half yard.  So the more you buy, the more you save.  Many thanks to Lori.  She has moved away, but is never far from my soul.

So last week I showed you my paper piecing stars that I have started.  Well here is a picture of the honeycomb quilt that I am doing with all Fig Tree fabrics.  It will consist of "Five Years of Figs".  This means that I have two  more groups to arrive before I can really finish it, but I do love the scrappy look, the colors of these fabrics are so warm and rich, it has been a blast to work on.

I have a good friend Sally (we were sister's in another life) who takes the most beautiful pictures and shares them with me, which is inspiring me to take more pictures.  Here are ones that I love so much of a sunrise from her home and a sunset from our last trip to the beach.

Our shop hop fabric arrived at the shop this week, and hard to believe that it is just eight weeks away.  So much to do to get ready.  Besides all the fun quilting projects there is a chunk of yard work to do, but with the weather we really only have to deal with that one or two days a week.  Here's to more sunshine so there can be afternoons spent on the deck stitching away.

Hope to see you in the shop soon.
